Tokai Super Edition Stratocaster shaped guitar with Fender style headstock – 1984
Tokai Super Edition Stratocaster shaped guitar with Fender style headstock - 1984 There’s enough evidence that this guitar was hardly ever played. In fact, it is still in the original box! The neck has a truss rod, which can be seen when you remove the neck. It has the original tuners. The headstock is unmarked and the back of the neck is free from any nasty marks. It’s lovely and smooth. The Rosewood fingerboard is in great condition and the 22 frets are in equally good condition. The solid body is superb. There’s one small mark that has been repainted. It’s on the side, close to the three-way switch. The back has a couple of small scratches but there are no nasty chips, gouges or even buckle rash. I’m convinced this was a bedroom guitar. The black-white-black scratch plate has a few tiny scratches on it. The TOKAI saddles show a very small amount of pitting but nothing horrendous. It comes with the original tremolo. I have re-strung this guitar with some good quality D’Addario’s. While I had the strings off, I had a look in the body cavity. It’s very clean. Inside the cavity, there are the usual Tokai markings. In the case of this guitar, they read “3=1=BB 3”. The pots read “M500”. Overall, this is a superb guitar. It plays well. It sounds great. It is also good for collectors as it comes with the original box (post mark dated: 29/8/84 ) and is in amazing condition. If you’re on the lookout for a Tokai Super Edition, then why not buy the best at a reasonable price?
