Teisco 1960s 4 string bass with good neck, electrics all working
Teisco 1960s 4 string bass with good neck, electrics all working This is a lovely example of a 1960’s Japanese Bass. It has a single pickup, with the original control knobs for Volume and Tone. The multi-laminated neck was clearly a great way to construct a strong neck. It’s still in good shape. It does have a truss rod for additional neck adjustment. The headstock is an unusual shape and the original enclosed tuners all work correctly. The Rosewood fingerboard is good. The frets are also in good condition. I think it must have had a re-fret at some point as the Zero fret appears to be original and has clearly got string scores in it. The other frets are fine. The back of the neck is nice and smooth. The pickup has a little corrosion on the chromed surround and the bridge has very light pitting. The body is solid and has some honest marks and scratches. In particular, there are 2 lines on the front on the lower left bout. There’s one main chip to the paint on one edge on the horn and one small one on the edge near the bottom strap pin. Overall though, it’s in good shape. Scale: 30” This isn’t a heavy bass. It’s a bit of fun, giving out that 60’s vibe, for not-a-lot of money. One for the collection.
