Mandolin Banjo Banjolin 1920-1930

Mandolin Banjo (Banjolin) 1920-1930. Possibly Sicilian made

Mandolin Banjo (Banjolin). 1920-1930. Possibly Sicilian made

This “banjolin” is in very good order. It sounds great.

It has some unusual marquetry on the back and neck heel. The neck is in good order with a rosewood fingerboard and brass frets. The brass nut has a small piece missing on the lower side but the strings remain in place. There is evidence of a past repair on the neck where it joins with the headstock but it’s stable. It still has the original brass 4-in-line tuners with the original buttons. One of the pegs is slightly bent.

This is a 17 Fret Banjolin with a slotted headstock.

I have restrung it, and it’s ready to go to an enthusiast or a collector. There is no makers name inside the resonator.

It’s a rare good example of a bygone era.
