Late 19th Century Spanish Parlour guitar

Late 19th Century Spanish Parlour guitar

Late 19th Century Spanish Parlour guitar.
This light parlour guitar was built in Valencia in the late 19th Century. By the look of the old-style peg tuners and the bridge, this guitar was most likely made somewhere around 1880-1890. I can’t work out the maker as the inner label is only partly there.
The guitar plays, but will require restoration. We are offering it for sale in an unrestored state as most historic guitar buyers like to have their guitars restored by their own luthiers.
It has the loveliest, light tone.
The sound-hole decoration is typical of Spanish guitars from that period. Makers like Jaime Ribot and the Sentchordi guitars used this pattern. The bridge is very similar to Sentchordi’s.
The guitar is very light and still has the very fine purfling. The sound board has some splits (as can be seen in the images) and it looks like there has been an old repair to the right side of the table. The sides and back are remarkably good.
Nut width: 48mm.
Width at 12th: 55mm.
Scale: 25 ½”.
Body depth: 8.5cm.
Upper bout width: 24.5cm.
Lower bout width: 33cm.
Body length: 46cm.
Current action: 5mm.
Please note that this guitar is for sale “as is”.
