Superb condition 1962 Hofner Senator blonde, very good action + hard case
Superb condition 1962 Hofner Senator blonde, very good action + hard case This Hofner Senator blonde stands out from the crowd. The action is extremely good, and has plenty of adjustment room. I’ve set it at the lowest action for the images, but it can be raised to a sensible level. It makes a lovely sound. Loud, resonant and with good sustain. If you’re not familiar with Hofners from this era, a good one like this is a pleasure to play. The neck is fairly narrow. As this Hofner Senator Blonde is post-1960, it is fitted with a truss rod. Consequently, the neck is good. The whole guitar presents itself very nicely. The body has some authentic very light lacquer cracking and some light buckle rash on the flame maple back which all adds to the “mojo”. It also demonstrates that this is not a re-finished guitar. The treble clef design on the headstock is all correct. The tuners are original and work well. The back of the neck is smooth and the neck/body joint is perfect. The bindings are all good. Bottom line, this is a collectors, and players, guitar. It is supplied in a non-Selmer / Hofner hard case.
