Fender Squier Pro Tone Fat Strat, mid 90’s, gold hardware, maple neck
Fender Squier Pro Tone Fat Strat, mid 90’s, gold hardware, maple neck Squier Pro Tone’s were built over a very short period. They were made in Korea between 1996 and 1998. They are very good quality with solid Ash bodies, 4-bolt Maple necks. They are fairly rare and, in my opinion, the black and gold suit them. This one is in very good condition with only light feint scratches from cleaning. The gold coloured hardware is in good condition. They are usually tarnished but only the top of the control knobs and the end of the tremolo bar have light marks. There are no chips, gouges or nasty buckle rash. The back of the neck is smooth. The frets have plenty of life in them and the Maple finger board is clean and without wear. The action is nice and low too. As you can see, it comes in an HCC arrangement with a locking nut and Floyd Rose Bridge. General opinion is that these were so good and competed too well with the Mexican Strats that Fender pulled the plug quickly. Grab yourself a very good Strat with rarity value. This Fender Squier Pro Tone Fat Strat is not something you see very often.
