Early 1970’s Vintage Marshall Model 2056 Speaker Cabinet with 2 x 15” Celestions
Early 1970’s Vintage Marshall Model 2056 Speaker Cabinet with 2 x 15” Celestions This Professional Series Marshall speaker cabinet was designed with 2 x 15” Powercel Speakers, capable of 250 watts. It has a rear loaded horn enclosure. As Marshall put it in their adverts in 1973 /4 the horn was designed to give “emphasis to bass frequencies”. The cabinet retains the original Marshall recessed handles. This particular series was designed to meet demand for larger PA systems. It was developed by Marshall to offer what was (at the time) near-studio facilities at a gig. This Vintage Marshall Model 2056 Speaker Cabinet is a rare beast. It packs a lot of punch with the replaced 15” Celestion Truvox speakers. They offer 8 ohm each, 40 ohm load, 250 watts each just like the ones that were replaced. The grill cloth was replaced with the correct Checker Board grill. It retains the 9” Marshall badge. There are a few small rips to the Tolex. The 2 larger rips have been re-glued back in place with the original covering. If you’re looking for a serious statement for your “man- cave”, or if you actually want to really use this kind of power, then this speaker cabinet delivers. This is a heavy bit of kit. Ideally, this is a collection-only sale. However, by negotiation, I could deliver to anywhere on mainland UK. The dimensions are: Height 4’ x width 35” x depth 18 ½” (I’ve kept it Old school as this was made pre-metric) Feel free to ask questions. I will consider PX on this Vintage Marshall Model 2056 Speaker Cabinet for an instrument, amp or cabinet on a cash PLUS item basis.
