Cimar 2100 Hard tail, Made in Japan, in unusual Wine Red

Cimar guitars were made in Japan in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. Like many others, they copied many of the better-known guitars of the day. In the 1980’s they even copied Ibanez guitars. This particular guitar is a version of the Ibanez Roadstar ll and Blazer.

Cimar was a Hoshino Gakki brand. Hoshino Gakki also produced Ibanez guitars, so there’s no surprise that they turned out guitars that were close copies.

This Cimar has survived the last 35 years well. It has a few small chips and scratches. However the neck is straight and the action is low. The 3 pickups are nice and loud and all of the original enclosed tuners work nicely.

It has a bullet-type truss rod. 1 x Tone and 1 x Volume controls with a 3-way switch. The neck and fingerboard are Maple. The fingerboard has a very small amount of wear. Please see the images. The upper frets have some wear but still very usable. One string tree is missing.

New strings fitted: D’Addario EXL110’s

Note: The stand in the images is not included in the sale
