Antonio Picado Model 45 classical guitar

Antonio Picado Model 45 classical guitar

Antonio Picado Model 45 classical guitar & hard case

This hand-made student guitar was made in 1985 by the Barcelona luthier, Antonio Picado. They are well known for mid to high-end guitars and this one is no exception. It’s extremely light and the marquetry demonstrates the skill of the luthier.

These guitars are produced in small numbers by a small band of skilled luthiers under the direction of Snr Picado. They are made in a workshop in the village of Berga near Barcelona, Spain. Each guitar has the undivided attention of the luthier. The result of this attention to detail is a fine guitar.

This guitar would suit a serious student, a performer or an aspirational student.

This Antonio Picado Model 45 classical guitar is being sold with the original hard case.

Antonio Picado higher-end guitars sell in their £1,000’s. This model is no longer made unless someone especially orders it. They replaced it with the Model 49.

It is a beautiful guitar, with a Western Red Cedar solid top together which produces a warm tone, as opposed to the clear rining tone that the Spruce topped version produces. It has Rosewood laminated sides and back. The neck is mahogany and the finger board is Rosewood. The gold tuners add a touch of elegance and the Rosewood capping to the headstock is lovely.

How does it sound? Beautiful! It has an exceptional tone at an affordable price.

This is an exceptional hand-made guitar for the serious student or performer.

  • Scale: 65cm
  • Nut width: 55mm
  • Width at 12th: 61mm

Condition: In exceptional condition with one very small lacquer mark to the table on the lower bout about 1cm from the edge. The fingerboard shows signs of light wear. Other than that, this guitar is good.

The original case has some small tears here and there but it looks after the guitar well.
