1964 Hofner Verithin with factory fitted Bigsby
1964 Hofner Verithin with factory fitted Bigsby in very good condition c/w Hiscox case I had to check this guitar very carefully to establish whether it really is a 1964 vintage Hofner Verithin because it is in remarkable condition. The last one I saw had quite a lot of lacquer cracking to the top and bottom. This Verithin’s finish is smooth and clear. There are the usual few marks where the floating bridge site. It looks like the whole guitar has had a very good clear top-coat re-finish as the play wear on the back of the neck (near the headstock) has definitely been re-coated with clear lacquer. (The body may be the original finish) There are 2 very small paint chips to the outside edge of the left-lower bout. The pick guard has some light finger scratches and the top / back of the headstock has a couple of very small paint chips. So, if you’re after a very good 1964 Hofner Verithin still fitted with the factory Bigsby, pots and pickups, then this is the guitar for you. Being a Verithin, it’s reasonably rare. It’s finished in the correct Cherry Red with the correct tuners and nut. The three piece maple neck is in very good condition, with a smooth back. The Rosewood / block inlaid fingerboard is in very good condition. The frets are fine and the action is currently about 2- 2.5mm. This guitar is offered with a Hiscox hard case.
